Information concerning Canada
Canada's surface: Canada is the largest country of the world. The national capital of Canada which counts ten provinces and three territories is Ottawa, in the Anglophone province of Ontario. The official languages of Canada are English and French. The flag of Canada, the maple leaf, on the white and red zone, is the symbol of the Canadian identity. The red and white color was proclaimed the official color of Canada by the king George V, on November 21, 1921.
The maple leaf that we find on the national flag is an interesting artistic design. The maple leaf has twelve corners without any particular significance. The national song of Canada was proclaimed as the national anthem on July 1, 1980, one century after being sung for the first time on June 24, 1880. The music belongs to Calixa Lavallée, a famous Canadian composer and the French words belong to Adolphe-Basile Routhier.
