Family sponsorship

The Canadian citizens and the Canadian residents over 18 years  of age can ask for the family regrouping of their very close relatives.

By very close relatives, one includes/understands:

  1. husbands, wife who is over 16 years of age
  2. parents and grandparents
  3.  adoptive children
  4. brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces if they are orphans over 16 years of age and who are not married.

As the responsible person guarantor, you must sign an agreement which describes your obligations. Thus, the person who will sponsor one member family must promise to help the sponsored person for a period of  three-to-ten years, in such a way that the sponsored person is not obliged to ask for social security.
