Equivalences of the studies

Cantons-de-l'Est

All the permanent residents who arrive in Canada are advised to make their equivalences of studies. This equivalence of studies is demaned by the Canadian employers or by the schools in which you want to persue your studies.  There are two different ways to obtain your equivalence of studies:

1. The equivalence of studies made by the Ministry.

2. The equivalence of study made by the colleges or universities.

The equivalence of study carried out by the Ministry is done in two stages. Initially, the Ministry requires that all the school documents of your country be translated or verified by an authorized translator of Quebec. After this formality, the documents must be sent to the Ministry within a three-month interval beginning from the date of the equivalence of your studies made and compared to the educational systems of Canada.

The equivalence of study made by the universities, schools, and colleges take less time, but presents the same requirement. These documents must be translated and verified by approved translators of Quebec.

Inscriptions in the professional orders or obtaining the documents which enable you to work in your field require the equivalence of study made by the Ministry. You will be surprised to note  differences, with regard to your studies made in your country and the educational system of Quebec (if you want to come to Quebec). For example, the diploma of the college is recognized in Quebec as an 11 year secondary school plus one year postsecondy/college.

Obviously, each case has its particularity. For this reason, it is important that the documents translated by authorized translators of your country are well made, in case of contrary you could lose years of studies because of a negligence, the majority of cases, minors. We can ensure translation services  in accordance with the requirements of Quebec.
